Buildout Potential & Housing Production Analysis — Sacramento Region (ECOS)

Integrated parcel, zoning, general plan, and land development data from Sacramento County and local jurisdictions to evaluate buildout potential across 30+ large-scale projects covering 33,000 acres and 171,000 planned housing units.

Analyzed FEIRs, RHNA allocations, and municipal housing elements to compare projected vs. realized housing outcomes, finding that only 42% of planned units are on track for completion by 2050, with moderate–high income housing produced at 5x the rate of low-income units.

Petition & Project Impact Mapping — Sacramento/Natomas Region (ECOS)

Created a map visualizing petition signers in relation to Sacramento City Council districts and County boundaries.

Additionally developed a comprehensive ECOS planning map used in opposition to four major Natomas development proposals, integrating mitigation zones, county/city boundaries, the Natomas Basin Conservancy Habitat Conservation Plan, the Swainson’s Hawk Ordinance, and Urban Services Boundary constraints.

Affordable Housing Identification — South Sacramento (ECOS)

Identified over 45 potential affordable housing sites in Sacramento through parcel, zoning, and ownership analysis, followed by on-site verification. Findings supported ECOS’s decision to advance the initiative to its next phase and secure financial backing.

Data Center Siting & Environmental Justice Analysis — ArcPy & GIS Automation

Developed an ArcPy workflow to automate joins and analysis across parcel, census, zoning, and SACOG Blueprint datasets.

Found that data centers cluster disproportionately near Hispanic/Latino neighborhoods (2x more likely) and lower-income communities (80% more likely), primarily in Center and Corridor Community zones.
Created choropleth and centroid maps highlighting correlations between infrastructure burdens and demographic distribution, supporting community discussions about equitable land-use planning and utility access.

Natural Disaster Frequency & Climate Change in Pakistan

Compiled and analyzed over 3,000 data points on natural disasters in Pakistan across two decades to examine whether climate change contributed to increasing disaster frequency.
Designed an infographic using Adobe Illustrator summarizing trends and findings.

Gender & Crime Correlation Analysis — ArcGIS Online

Explored potential statistical relationships between the gender of offenders and the gender of victims across a regional dataset.
Created a web-based interactive map illustrating patterns and correlations.

Housing Affordability & Wage Analysis — California

Collected and analyzed Census Bureau data on housing costs and single-household wages to evaluate the affordability of basic housing across California. Normalized the data using multiple methods to explore how different cartographic approaches shape narrative and interpretation. Final visualizations were produced using Adobe Illustrator.

Demographic Change Visualization Across 12 California Counties

Compiled Census Bureau data on major racial demographic groups and mapped changes over time in 12 California counties. Designed comparative visualizations using Adobe Illustrator to illustrate long-term demographic shifts and regional patterns.

EV Charging Infrastructure Suitability Analysis — Seattle

For a group capstone project, used ArcMap to identify optimal locations for new EV charging stations in low-income neighborhoods.
Collected, formatted, and integrated datasets from multiple public sources, performing suitability and network analysis to determine priority installation areas.

Racial Demographics & Crime Density Mapping — Oakland

Conducted a GIS study using ArcMap to examine whether population density patterns correlate with reported violent crime distribution across racial demographics in Oakland.
Normalized demographic densities using Census and USGS data to reduce bias and ensure analytical neutrality.
